Lucie van Leeuwen spent the first 19 years of her life in beautiful New Zealand, the next 8 years travelling and has lived in the Netherlands since 1996.

In 1998 she embraced her passion for everything human and started studying movement, meditation, massage and yoga.

Her most recent specialties are:

Restorative Exercise. A movement program developed by Katy Bowman, Biomechanical Scientist, which makes the shift in consciousness that we are how we move. That many of the health issues that we are facing today are due to a lack of movement which has in turn created mal-alignment which feeds excessive mobility in some areas and immobility in others. Filling our body on many levels with ‘stress risers’. Weakened and underfed tissue which become prone to dis-ease. The solution: move better and move more throughout your day.

Critical Alignment Therapy. A form of yoga developed by Gert van Leeuwen, which mobilizes and balances the spine in order to realign. CAT increases our awareness of how we react to stress, pain and discomfort in our lives, be it physical, mental and/or emotional. Our natural reaction is to resist which in turn creates more tension and pain. It is in becoming aware of our habits and resistances that we are given the ability to choose otherwise and this assists in our healing processes.

TRE® (Tension, Stress & Trauma Release Exercise). An innovative series of exercises that assist the body in releasing deep muscular patterns of stress, tension and trauma. Created by Dr. David Berceli, PhD, TRE® safely activates a natural reflex mechanism of shaking or vibrating that releases muscular tension, calming down the nervous system. When this muscular shaking/vibrating mechanism is activated in a safe and controlled environment, the body is encouraged to return back to a state of balance.

Lucie is currently completing the Wim Hof Method instructor’s course.

The WHM combines specific breathing techniques, cold exposure and mind-set (meditation), coupled with physical exercise. It is a natural method to improve health and well-being which empowers people and has been proven to benefit the immune system. Read here how WHM has changed the text books!

During the past 19 years Lucie has studied with many other innovative teachers who have helped deepen her understanding of human movement and wellness. She expertly combines these systems so that you may experience ever-deeper levels of sensitivity, ease and vitality in your own body. Her philosophy is ‘the simpler the better’; teach to empower and recognize the inherent wisdom and intelligence that we all contain.

Lucie is continuously furthering her education with Katy Bowman and inspires herself daily with home study in many areas, including but not limited to: Steven Porges’ Polyvagal TheoryBruce LiptonNassim Haramein and most recently Joe Dispenza.

Re-aligning, returning to natural balance, it is a lifelong path of ‘undoing’.

The journey of becoming mindfully aware of those habits that are no longer serving me.

Habits of tension, habits of mindlessly attending to daily tasks, habits of being unaware of what my (mind) body is doing and telling me.

By becoming aware of my habits of body and mind I realise that I have a choice in everything I do. And thus, I can create a more natural alignment (physical, mental, emotional, spiritual).
